René Magritte’s Art Deco Music Covers

You probably associate Belgian Surrealist artist René Magritte with weird, surreal pieces, like his famous Treachery of Images. He also liked apples, clouds, human figures in strange environment and bowler hats. Couple of weeks ago we even published an article 14 Weirdest Paintings Of René Magritte  (I highly recommend it, a lot of fun content inside).

But did you know, that young Magritte made a living by working as a draughtsman at a wallpaper factory and he was also designing graphic ephemera?

Among them are approximately 40 sheet music covers he produced in the 1920s. And they are… Art Deco! Quite charming Art Deco, don’t you think? 🙂
